Is YouTube Paying Artists Hush Money? | MUSIK !D TV NEWS
It has been reported on Bloomberg.com that YouTube asked music artists to not criticize their streaming-video platform by providing them promotional help. Previously, YouTube gave a couple hundred thousand dollars to many artists.
Along with this agreement, YouTube demands their participants and creators to comply with their conditions. Artists like Paul McCartney, G-Eazy, Ozuna, and Taylor went along and signed the agreement. YouTube paid more than $1 billion to the music industry and reinforced its protection of material infringing copyrights. This deal gives YouTube the rights to a paid music platform. However, if the service becomes unsuccessful, music labels will not remain silent.
