BMI Beats The DOJ! | MUSIK !D TV NEWS

Apparently, the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals just permitted fractionalized licensing to songwriter and music publishers.
This new form of licensing means in conditions where songs are written by numerous songwriters, music consumers have to get a license from either every single one of them or their representatives.
“This is a massive victory for songwriters, composers, music publishers and the entire industry. We have said from the very beginning that BMI’s consent decree allowed for fractional licensing, and we are incredibly gratified that Judge Stanton and the Second Circuit agreed with our position.” – Mike O’Neill, President of BMI
