According to Nielsen, Americans listen to music for over 32 hours, weekly. Last year, it was 26.6 hours. Due to technology, like cell phone devices, you can consume music anywhere and anytime.
The data shows that music is often played on smartphones. While the average consumer uses 3.4 devices, consumers with streaming subscriptions use 4.8 devices. Radio consumers use 5.5 devices. Millennials use 3.8 devices. The study also shows that U.S. music consumers invest in quantity and quality when it comes to their devices. 30% declare that they would buy more for high-quality music technology.
