Facebook is on the verge to make deals with labels and publishers for 2 billion+ users to legally use music in their videos. Facebook and other industry CEOs is willing to formulate a system that will analyze and tag music copyright.
It has been reported that music rights-holders made $553 million from video streaming services. So, if Facebook could double that much money in 2017, YouTube will lose many of their music rights-holders. Facebook desires to have a “blanket” music licensing deal before kicking off Watch, a new core for video.
